Default Benefit of prenatal yoga

Pregnancy is a physical as well as mental experience. Women often becomes hyper aware of all the changes their bodies are going through. Yoga allows pregnant women to adapt to these changes more gracefully and to feel proud and a sense of appreciation for their bodies. Yoga exercises can increase flexibility, strength, circulation and balance. Many pregnant women find that regular yoga exercises help to reduce swelling, back and leg pain, and insomnia.

Here is an interesting little article about prenatal yoga:

Best Exercise During Pregnancy: Yoga

It’s important to maintain a fitness regimen during pregnancy, but as your belly blossoms, it may be tough — and not always safe — to keep up with your usual exercise routine.

Experts say that yoga is among the best exercises for pregnant women. Recommendations released by the Academy of Arthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS) say that yoga allows women to maintain exercise programs without strain on their cardiovascular system or baby. Practicing yoga builds strength and flexibility and does double-duty, by also promoting relaxation and deep breathing.

Certain types of yoga — like Bikram and more strenuous styles should be avoided and of course, check with your doctor before beginning any exercise program during pregnancy. It’s best to look for yoga classes designed for pregnant women — many yoga studios offer prenatal yoga classes which are tailored to expecting clients and the classes are also a fantastic opportunity to meet other women expecting babies around the same time as you are!

Hi to all you prenatal yoga moms to be! Hope your practice is going great. I just watched a new episode of Mom Life called "What Kind of Mom Are You?" Very interesting. I think I'm an easy peasy mom. Watch to find out which kind of mom you are! YouTube - What Kind of Mom Are You?

I did some yoga during pregnancy and although it made me feel better, I didn't notice any significant results, yes I was more limber but I find higher impact stuff more useful, like fast walking!
