Thanks.

Qigong (or ch’i kung) refers to a wide variety of traditional “cultivation” practices that involve methods of accumulating, circulating, and working with “chi” or “vital energy” within the body. Qigong is sometimes mistakenly said to always involve movement and/or regulated breathing; in fact, use of special methods of focusing on particular energy centers in and around the body are common in the “higher level” or evolved forms of Qigong.

Qigong is practiced for health maintenance purposes, as a therapeutic intervention, as a medical profession, a spiritual path and/or component of Chinese Martial arts.
The “qi” in “qigong” means ‘breath’ in Chinese, and, by extension, ‘life force’, ‘energy’ or even ‘cosmic breath’. ‘Gong’ means work applied to a discipline or the resultant level of skill, so ‘qigong’ is thus ‘breath work’ or ‘energy work’.

Reiki is the practice of laying on of hands and channeling chi for the purposes of healing. Although the energy is available to anyone to channel, a Reiki practitioner has been “attuned” to this energy and method. An attunement consists of changing the physical and etheric body of the student to vibrate at a higher rate, which enables him or her to channel finer and higher amounts of this energy. The energy is channeled from the practitioner’s higher self to the client’s higher self, with the energy drawn in through the crown chakra and sent out through the hands. Reiki is not a religion or dogma. It’s origins have been traced to Buddhism, possibly before the time that ***** walked the earth.

So Qi Gong is where you channel your OWN Energy and
Reiki is where you channel the UNIVERSAL Energy (positive Energy)

In both techniques, the energy is used to balance your chakras and to give you a better physical, emotional, mental & spiritual health.

I don’t know which is better in particular, as both techniques – when used properly and on a daily basis – yield excellent results.
I use both :
Reiki for meditation, relaxation and a healthier me;
Qi Gong before doing my daily exercices in order to be healthier too.
Both techniques relax and make you feel balanced and happy.
