Disadvantages of Wind Energy

I know there seems to be a lot of disadvantages going for wind energy. However, I think this is a great opportunity to be more creative and device something more efficient.

With so many disadvantages listed in regards to wind energy, who is benefiting from wind energy? I always thought it was a good idea until I read this thread. I thought this was the ultimate natural power next to solar power.

Wind energy is wind-dependent, of course, so it is ideally set up in areas where wind is consistent, otherwise no wind, no energy, hence, the supply of power can be interrupted. The noise created is another disadvantage which is seen. I've read that the turbines can also affect television reception. But I guess that despite such disadvantages, the use of wind power as an alternative source of energy can't be dismissed because it certainly works in some areas.

I think it only makes practical sense to make use of multiple energy sources. We have many inexpensive natural sources of energy---why do we seem to think it has to be one for all energy needs or nothing?
