The Media Project
I would like to introduce you all to The Media Project, which is in its third season. It began airing Monday night, May 24th at 8pm EST on IFC, The Independent Film Channel - so check your local listings and tune in why dontcha? The show will continue airing through this Thursday - with a new episode each night at the same time.
In this season there is a new format for the show - which now offers a single, in depth documentary in each episode. Difficult subjects were tackled this season ("Fear", "War", "Greed" and "Disaster" - yes, we still love our dark humor) – the Media Project travelled around the world from Afghanistan to Wall Street, the heart of Tea Party country, the halls of Congress and Port Au Prince Haiti during the weeks following the earthquake. Incredible stories were discovered along the way - some deeply personal and moving, and others that simply made our blood boil.
To tell those stories The Media Project partnered with some amazing independent journalists - Max Blumenthal, Nir Rosen, Charlie LeDuff and Andrew Berends - each of whom brought a deep and fresh perspective to the stories they worked on, as well as a journalistic tenacity that was truly inspiring to be part of. And if you tune in - you'll see just what I mean.
