Default Getting Stains Out of Clothes

I was watching a morning T.V. show and they said if you get a bad stain in your clothes (like a chocolate stain or bbq sauce) all you need to do is wash it out a little, then squeeze lemon juice on the stain and hang it out in the SUN. Apparently this natural way will get out any stain. I have yet to try it, but it sounds awesome if it does work.

That's an old, old trick that still works as well today as it did back in the day. You can also lay the stain over something and then pour boiling water through it to remove it sometimes. It just depends upon what type of stain you're working with. I know if it's a milk or milk product stain, hot water or a hot dryer will set the stain permanently.

For a natural way to remove stains on clothes, I've tried using vinegar. I remember that one of my shirts had ink stain on it, and what I did was to blot the stain with vinegar and let it soak for hours, then I washed it as normal. I think the result was pretty good. The trick is to act on the stain quickly and avoid rubbing because it will just spread the stain.

I like the lemon juice and sun trick. It is green and works pretty well for me, although I will keep the vinegar trick in mind if it doesn't work the next time I get an ink stain.

Does anyone know any stain remover ideas for getting out a stain on a tie? I hate wearing ties with even the slightest stain on them. I try my hardest not to get stains on them, but a stain is inevitable. I have just thrown ties away merely because they have the smallest little dot on them. Any thoughts?
