Default All Vegetable Shortening

I admit I use all vegetable shortening with the brand name starting with a "C". But I don't use it for cooking. Instead, I use it as a nice ointment for hands, feet or cracked skin anywhere. My family has used it for years like this. We only buy it in the small containers but it's a wonderful cream to use on the feet and then put socks on and sleep in. It really works well.

I never thought of using this product this way. I do have trouble with my hands and feet cracking during the winter cold weather. I will have to try this. I had given up petroleum jelly for environmental reasons and that was what I had been using but I'll try the vegetable shortening now. Thanks for the tip!
