Default Organic Candy!

I have made several batches of candy using refined sugar and corn syrup.

My candy making has been put on hiatus for awhile now because I do not want to use corn syrup ANYMORE. nasty nasty stuff.
Anyway I found a few organic candies that actually use brown rice syrup and dehydrated cane juice! Awesome right?

Last night I attempted a couple batches of delicious organic lavender suckers for my pregnant wife.
Organic dehydrated cane juice (2 cups), water (3/4 cups) and organic brown rice syrup (2/3 cup)!

Each time my concoction hit about 226 degrees it would just boil over and I couldn't, for the life of me, get it up to 300.
I attempted it twice to no prevail, had to dump both batches out...

Anyone know what I am doing wrong?
Has anyone made hard candy using these ingredients?

Those sound delicious but sorry, I've never tried to make candy before at all. My mom makes fudge but that's about the extent of my families candy making forays. Don't give up though, I'm sure you will figure out something!

Just a follow up...

Well, I made another batch of candy. This time using the organic dehydrated cane juice and *gulp* corn syrup. It turned out perfect! Without boil over.

The brown rice syrup is the identified culprit!
I know it can be done because ALL the hand full of organic candy makers use it. There is just no info about it. THEY ARE HORDING THE RECIPIE!!

I will keep trying and when I figure this out I will post it!

If you have any ideas, please let me know.
