Default Rain Barrel

Yay! We finally got a rain barrel! I've been wanting one so we can use natural means of irrigation instead of fresh water. It's always nice when I can do something new that is eco-friendly.

I want a rain barrel, too. It makes such good sense for the environment to use rain water to water the garden. Not only that, but it keeps any chemicals that might be added to city water out of the garden, which is important if you are growing organic.

Rain barrels are really neat. I have one strategically placed central to where my container plants are positioned. They seem to thrive on rain water.

We have rain barrels, too. It was something I made sure had to be installed. Harvesting rainwater serves two purposes: save money and do your share in protecting the environment. We use rainwater in watering the plants. It's good for the plants because the water is in its natural form, no chemicals.

What a wonderful green alternative to using the garden hose! I love the idea of not running up my water bill too. It's becoming increasingly harder to find water that isn't contaminated by chemicals. I would think everyone would want to catch clean water from the sky.
