Default College Garbage

I was watching the news the other day and there was a story in how much garbage (much of which could be recycled) is thrown away at UCSD. The manager of the sanitation department decided to pile up one days worth of garbage out in the open for the students to see so that they will want to do something about the waste going on. He said that the visual presentation should help students take a stand for a greener school to help the environment. It was a huge pile of garbage!!!

Maybe the manager should stop disposal of garbage altogether in order for students to realize what are their responsibilities. Sometimes people need to learn it the hard way.

Do they provide recycling bins in the dorms or apartments the students have? Do they offer curbside pickup? If the manager got the cooperation of the students instead of showing them the garbage, they may get with the program and start recycling.

Smile Bamboo

Because there is a lot of fast food around and on colleges, and these places use a lot of paper and a lot more non eco friendly products with there food, they should be forced to use bamboo sheath, its eco friendly, doesnt hurt the plant or planet. I personally get all my bamboo products from the web, its cheaper because I can use it more then once if taken care of and it looks a lot better then paper
