Default Green Xmas ideas, anyone?

Anyone has an idea how to decorate eco-friendly for Christmas? I know it's a bit late to start decorating. But it's better late than never. I don't use Christmas trees though as I don't have a space--maybe next year. I only use other decorations.

We try to use as little as possible at Christmas because it's so easy to get wasteful. Decorate with old fashioned strung popcorn and cranberries, then after Christmas, put it out for the birds - they love it!

Use reusable packaging as much as possible - baskets instead of boxes, wrap with fabric instead of paper, etc.

You can make your own ornaments from pine acorns. Apply the glue on the edges and roll the acorn on the glitter. When I was small my sisters made our own Christmas lanterns similar to the photo but quite as pretty. Anyway, since we used papers and bamboo sticks they are very easy to dispose. Actually, they can be kept and reused too.
