Default Xeriscaping

We use too much water and still can't keep our lawn in good shape. I want to reduce our environmental impact by xeriscaping, but need suggestions for plants that are naturally drought-tolerant (for when my new rain barrel is empty!). I live in Florida. Any help would be appreciated.
