Earth Day!

[One Earth]

Earth Day is coming up on Friday, April 22. Do you have any plans to do something meaningful on that day to honor the spirit of the day? I plan to build a compost bin and to not drive anywhere. (I'd really like to see Earth YEAR!)

As a family, we are going to help clean up the school. We have several projects to teach the kids how to have love for Mother Earth and how to show her by been eco-friendly.

I might be participating in a tree planting activity sponsored by our local government. Aside from its environmental meaning, it would be like a stress reliever for me. I haven't been with nature (literally) in a long time, so the timing of the event is perfect.

We have a large local lake system that is a national park and they are going to have a cleanup to gather all of the stuff that has drifted to shore. I'm looking forward to it because a bunch of friends of mine also participate and we have a blast!

Several neighbors in our area are getting together to clean up the trash along the roads. We're taking what we can to be recycled, but I guess we'll have to take the rest to the landfill, which I really hate to do. It's a great activity for Earth Day!

For Earth Day I'm going to gather up toxic items that need to go to the dump for proper disposal. Any products I need to replace, I will do so with eco-friendly products.

We will be helping with a community clean up on Saturday. On Friday we have to work but we thought we would have a picnic after work to get out in the sun and appreciate nature.

We are going to help clean up a local wooded area where everyone seems to think trash is necessary. Not only do they dump there, they also scatter trash through the woods. It's a shame but we will be helping out.

Happy Earth Day!!! Wouldn't it be great if people treated everyday like Earth Day by using natural products, planting trees, and recycling everything they could?! Make everyday Earth Day!

I went and listened to a talk that was given by the originator of Earth Day. I live off the beaten path, so I was surprised he was in this area. Many good things have come of Earth Day.
