Absolutely Natalie! White is known as a cool color, both in houses and cars. It's a well-known fact that dark colored cars, especially black, absorb heat instead of reflecting it. It's why the surface of a black car, in summer and not in shade, is considerable hotter than a white car.

Yes Vegan, it is. The darker the color, the warmer it is. It is true on clothing, paint color, roof color, car color, even animal color. This is why lots of people (including myself) won't buy a black or dark blue car because they become so hot during the summer.
For a cooler house or car, choose lighter colors. |

That's why they used to use aluminum paint for the tops of mobile homes. It would reflect some of the heat and allow the interior to remain a bit cooler. There are a lot of things you can do. You can also use insulated curtains to keep things warm in the winter and reflective curtains to direct heat outward during the summer. I want to put tint on my windows too. I think that would work.

That's a good idea in places where cooling the home is an issue, but you need to take into consideration the fact that you can't paint your roof with any kind of paint because at the first rain it will all go down the drain literally.
