Default Simple Energy Saving Tips

Did you know that up to 50% of the average homes energy consumption goes to heating? And much of the building′s heat loss is through it′s windows – so not surprisingly up to 1/5th of your heating bill could be going to heat loss!

Properly installed doors and windows allows for more energy efficiency, which means less heating. Ideally double glazing is the most efficient answer to an air tight home, but a lot of us cannot afford that option or would like to hang on to the single glaze original windows that are already there. If you are one of those people, there are several things you can do to get more efficient and stay warm!

1) Seal all edges and cracks with caulk
2) Fit weather stripping in the frame of windows and doors
3) Hang curtains (the heavier the better and lined if possible)
