Default Eco-Friendly Car Companies

We are always talking about eco-friendly cars, green cars, fuel efficient cars, etc. However, I would like to know if there are any eco-friendly car companies. Are there any car companies that have made sure the making of the cars is done with out messing up the environment? After all we know the cars will mess them up, but do they try to minimize their own impact?

Now that you mention it, I think that the industry is really killing us. Imagine how much would a car have to travel from Japan by sea, to then be transported by car carriers. Have you seen those bad boys filling us up with black smoke? The whole industry is not being eco-friendly at all.

With all the talk of electric cars people conveniently forget they still use electricity to be charged, which of course burns fuel, so no there is no such thing as a 100% eco-friendly car maker.
