Default Recycling

We try to recycle as many things as we can in our household. That being said, in our small town there are some things that are just not accepted at the recycling center. Yogurt containers (plastic) are one thing they will not accept. Another is books. What should I do with these products? I don't want to throw them away.

Can't really advise you about the yogurt containers, but you can donate the books to an antique or used book store and get a few bucks for the books that you don't need.

Yogurt containers, butter and marg tubs can all be recycled by giving to your local school. The schools are usually crying out for things like this, so that the children can use them in their art and crafts projects.

Make sure you ask first before taking a carrier bag full, though.

Saffron is right about schools acquiring these things. I'm not sure in your area but I think there are different recycling plants for different materials. Ask around where you can recycle those plastic containers.
