Default Why did you go green?

I'm curios if you opted to be more eco friendly because you want to save the planet or do you enjoy the tax cuts and other benefits that come with being green? In my case I guess it's a little bit of both, I think about the planet and I also save money so it's a great combo.

Since I don't own, I don't get any of the tax benefits. I am trying to live greener for several reasons - the environment, my own health and to save money. A lot of green ideas will save money so it makes sense even when you aren't worried about the planet.

There will be almost no tax cuts with being green as we will all learn in the upcoming years. But I took the green path because I love nature and I think we should take care of it more instead of destroying it for stupid reasons.

I went green for the same reason most people do: I like this blue tiny spot in our solar system so much and I want to help it become healthier.

I am not an exception. I go green to help the environment and this planet help us live a better and healthier life. I am not really aware about the tax benefits though.

Like what the others have said, I want to take care of the planet we lived in. I like the quotation that says "We do not inherit the Earth from our ancestors, we borrow it from our children!" I want my children to have a world that I have enjoyed while I was living so I need to take care of it.

Well put, I like that saying. Sometimes it is very hard to look at the big picture and away from our little lives and daily chores and realize that we have a duty to do.

Many people of certain spiritual streams believe in reincarnation theory. They believe that it is our own reincarnations who will live on this earth (and other planets in other solar systems?) in the future. It just gives us more reasons to maintain this planet.

I've been watching documentaries about the environment and its possible future if people continue with their I-don't-care attitude. This has furthered my interest in and concern for nature. Some people think that the environment is beyond destruction, but wait until they feel its effects. It may be a cliche but I feel that I have the responsibility to take care of the place where humanity dwells.

If you were dying of cancer, would you care about the money or would you care about your life? The planet has cancer. At this point there still seems to be hope that it's not terminal, unless it's too late and we're in denial. No, it's not about the money.
