Thumbs up Standardization of housing development

To facilitate mass production and to achieve economy of scale, standardization in housing should be adopted to the maximum extent possible. The success of modern industrialized building methods will depend to a large extent on the adoption of this standardization. In earlier times developments in was rather muted mainly due to the total absence of the private sector in real estate development.

The government agencies involved in housing development dominated the real estate market for a while. They also had to shut shop within a short period of time due to poor quality of the housing units offered and also due to the custom made designs incorporated in such units. Instead of a people oriented approach, the housing board followed an approach of building and then selling, instead of selling after developing a housing unit in tune with the tastes and preferences of the customers.

Only with the entry of the major private developers did the situation change for the better. The private developers have proved their mettle in doling out high quality living spaces at affordable costs. Customers with any taste and preference are rightly satisfied here. Whether it be a single bedroom apartment or a two or even multi-bedroom apartment, the leading builders are able to offer the best at local rates.

In most of the cases, the leading builders build only after gaining the planning consent from their esteemed customers. The mega real estate projects are advertised months before the actual construction on the project is likely to start. In many instances, even before construction began on a high-rise apartment complex, the entire proposed built up spaces have been virtually sold out. Thus the intimate needs of the customers are incorporated into the design and only then will the construction on the project start.

Cool Celebrate Green Week with NBCUniversal

Educating the youth on the environmental issues that face us in this new age is one of the most important steps in fostering a greener community.

Right now, NBCUniversal is making a commitment to sustainability across the entire company. Their "Green is Universal" initiative is focused on bringing an environmental perspective to everything NBCUniversal does, informing and entertaining their audiences while driving more sustainable practices into their own operations.

Check out this video (courtesy of NBC4) about eco-friendly lessons for children.

I'm helping NBCUniversal spread the word about their "Green is Universal" campaign, so let me know if anyone has questions.
