Penguins Losing Feathers

I read an article about the number of penguin chick who lose their feathers and are completely bald except for their heads has increased and scientists can't find out why. I wonder if pollution has anything to do with it?

The chicks evidently grow their feathers when they become an adult but until then they are bald. Poor things.
