Default Eco-Friendly Wedding Invites

One of my closest friends is getting married several months from now and she has asked me to give her a hand in the wedding preparations and offer some suggestions regarding the wedding details such as the wedding invites. The go green person in me can't help calculate the amount of paper to be used for the wedding invites, so I'm looking for ways to make the invites eco-friendly. Suggestions would be appreciated!

Have you seen the paper with the flower seeds imbedded into it? If you could get some of that, it would be awesome as a wedding invitation. Think of the flowers blooming as an extension of their love growing after they marry.

A friend once told that her friend used to send edible invitations. I forgot from what material were they made but this is an excellent idea if you ask me.

Those are very good and interesting advices, especially idea with the seeds. A side question: why are some specific plant seeds forbidden to import in the United States?

Thanks for the ideas which are truly green and eco-friendly...The invites with flower seeds idea is cool and very symbolic. I'm curious about the edible wedding invitations. It's unique and nothing is wasted because you can choose to let it go down to your stomach afterwards. I'll dig into it.

You could use recycled paper. I also know of paper being made out of the fiber from elephant poop, I know that sounds gross but they clean it really well and it actually looks really pretty once it is made. Just don't tell people what it is made out of because they might freak out, lol.

I think it was a mixture of fondant and cereals but I'm not sure. I just know they came in regular package similar to candy bars.

Smile Handmade Recycled Seed Paper Invitations

I just wanted to weigh in on the Eco-Friendly wedding invitations! I'm starting to search for invitations myself, and I found out about Twisted Limb Paperworks. They have the option to create any of your invitations with plantable paper that means your guests can plant your invitations and a small patch of wildflowers will grow. I haven't ordered yet, but I was also wondering if anyone else had worked with Twisted Limb? Here is their website: https://www.twistedlimbpaper.com/

I think that choosing recycled is important, and even though some friends of mine told me that digital invitations would technically be greener...it's my wedding and I want to be as green and as unique as possible. I'll probably try and get handmade thank you cards as well!
