Default Tip for going green at home and office

- Don't leave appliances such as TVs and DVD players on standby
- Only boil as much water as you need when using the kettle
- Switch off the lights when a room is not in use
- Don't leave mobile phone chargers plugged in when they're not charging
- Foil-back your radiators to stop heat escaping through your walls
- Recycle or compost your household waste
- Kill your car engine when stationary for more than a minute
- if you feel cold, put on a jumper instead of turning the heating on/up
- Switch to low-energy light bulbs
- Dry your clothes outdoors when possible instead of using your tumble dryer
- Take showers instead of baths
- Cancel your junk mail
- Refuse carrier bags when you go shopping
- Install cavity wall insulation in your home

Luckily, many of the steps we can take to stop climate change can make our lives better. Our grandchildren-and their children-will thank us for living more sustainably. Let's start now.
