Default Recycle Cell Phone and Batteries

How many people recycle their old phones and lithium batteries?

I hope many people do, although I don't think people realize that it is something they should do. I know Verizon has a box in their store for this purpose only and I think that is great because those batteries are really bad for the environment if left in a land field.

Whenever I upgrade my phone, the first thing I do is donate my old one. You should check in your area where they collect them. They refurbish them and give them to needy people. I think that you are eco-friendly when you donate instead of discarding. It is the ultimate reuse.

For an old cellphone, either I give it to a less fortunate relative or acquaintance or I bring it to a local store or like a junk shop nearby that buys secondhand items . Nothing becomes wasted plus I make someone happy or get extra money from such simple steps to being eco-friendly!

We have a women's shelter for victims of domestic violence that has a need for used cell phones. They get them refurbished and they give them to people who are in potentially unsafe situations so they can call for help if needed, and so they have phone service in the event they need to quickly leave their home situation. Somebody was using their head on this proactive and eco-friendly idea.

Naturally, we do the same. Our local women's shelter gets them and has them processed to give to ladies who need a life line. It's a shame the need is even there, but I'm thankful they get used to the greater good.

Default Recycle Cell Phones

We have a battered women's shelter and a homeless shelter that's not too far away. I'm going to contact them to find out if they use old cell phones. It will be great if we can help people in need and be eco-friendly, too.

For my old cell phone, I give it to my sister or to those who are in need and trade it to something. However, a recent study discovered that U.S. consumers are looking at billions in trade-in value on their outdated cellular devices. Those outdated phones are worth cash. Plus, selling them keeps them out of the environment.
