CarbonSaver Technology from Atlantic Hydrogen Tests Carbon Removal
I recently came across an interesting news item that mentioned the CarbonSaver technology from Altantic Hydrogen for CO2 sequestration efforts.
CarbonSaver technology involves subjecting natural gas to an electrical charge, causing the carbon and the hydrogen molecules to split. The hydrogen is then mixed back with natural gas to produce hydrogen enriched natural gas (HENG) with around 20% hydrogen, reducing CO2 emissions when it is burned, while the carbon is removed as a solid.
Well, OK, it does not entirely remove CO2, but the HENG appears to be more practical than many other fanciful ideas floating around that suggest dramatic reductions. It is always easier to trust a technology that will gradually lead to a solution than dramatic offerings that will offer relief overnight. What are your thoughts on this?
