Not much, if any, unfortunately. By the time the processing and transporting is over, the reduction in environmental impact is pretty negligible. But I believe it's a step in the right direction and if we keep working at it, we'll get there.

LOL That wouldn't be enough. We may even need to invade another planet. Anyway, I remember I read an article about using algae to produce bio fuels from. I think it's a good alternative to edible crops.

Or we can slow down our advancement and just walk to our jobs. We are consuming so much fuel and the supply is running out. Biofuels are just temporary solutions as it won't provide the needs of all vehicles. I'm just imagining the consumption of airplanes and cars worldwide. I wonder if there is oil in Mars.

I read of a university out west that is doing extensive research to find out how eco-friendly and economically feasible it is to produce and use them. The adjacent town is using bio-fuels exclusively, and the university is collecting data.
