We are thrilled to add this new wind turbine kit to our line of wind and solar educational products. If you are looking to seriously explore wind energy science then this is the kit. This extensive windmill kit has a 6:1 gearbox attached to the generator, and tracks the wind with a yaw bearing. Make your own blades with the included balsa sheets, and experiment with different shapes and numbers of blades. Use the included 12 hole crimping hub so you can hold and angle your blades precisely. We tested this turbine with 4 basic blades, indoors in front of a small fan, and measured 2-3 Volts and 0.5 amps (1-1.5 watts of power!). More power is possible with greater wind speed and better blade design.Includes DC motor, small water pump and assorted lights for experimenting.
