Green Matters was launched by Crissy Trask in 1999 to promote sustainable practices and technologies. By 2006, following the publication of her book, It's Easy Being Green, she added a consulting branch to her business. Trask has a lot of valuable experience. She began her career with website design and a start-up, authorship, writing credentials and professional speaking, all of which surrounded the topic of green living. Her work is also encompasses a broad range of topics. She addresses almost every aspect of sustainable living through her work. She has lectured throughout the United States and found that the more that people learned, the more questions they had and the more that they wanted to continue to learn. She decided that a consulting firm would make sustainable living even more accessible to the public.
Trask is the epitome of an environmentalist; she loves the outdoors. In her free time, she can be found in the outdoors skiing, backpacking, windsurfing, swimming, paddling and biking. Best of all, Trask's lifestyle definitely reflects her efforts with GreenMatters. She believes that once you develop an eco-conscious it is futile to try to ignore it. Trask also believes that green changes are best made one at a time. She recommends this method to her clients and readers because she believes that even the simplest changes need to take time to become habits before another change can be implemented. After all, Trask believes that changes must be sincere and understood.
Trask is like most of us; she didn't always live a green lifestyle. Just over a decade ago she did little more than recycle and pick up litter on the shore near her home. One day, she noticed an environmental magazine and became immediately enthralled with its contents. From there she began reading and researching more, gaining a greater understanding of the environmental crisis we currently face and what we must do to reverse it. Trask goes on, saying that once she implemented small changes, she noticed how many other people were not making those same changes. Thus, it became her mission to help people to learn about and practice more eco-friendly lifestyles. EnviroCitizen.org believes Trask can be an asset to anyone wishing to make their lifestyle greener. Between her delightful personality and undeniable passion for environmental issues, she is easily able to educate and assist anyone interested in learning more and engaging in a greener way of living. |
