Eastern Natural Resources Group, Inc. (which is the long form of the clever acronym ENRGi) focuses on geothermal heating and cooling technology and serves Bergen County in New Jersey. According to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), geothermal heating/cooling is the most efficient, eco-friendly, economical system you can choose.
Geothermal heating and cooling systems operate under simple premises. Basically, ERNGi installs pipes underground near your home, school or business that are filled with a water-based solution. These pipes then become in sync with the temperature of the ground around the pipes, which stays at about fifty-four degrees Fahrenheit year round. In the summer, this cool temperature is pumped into a geothermal unit that compresses the air and delivers it to your air conditioning duct system. In the winter, the water-based solution soaks up the warmer temperature underground (fifty-four degrees Fahrenheit might not seem that warm, but compared to a cold January night in New England it makes a big difference) then compresses the extracted heat to higher temperatures before delivering it to your radiant heat system.
Geothermal heating and cooling technologies have many benefits. These systems can reduce energy costs by 70% each year. Boilers aren't needed and the technology is completely clean and eco-friendly. Geothermal heating and cooling systems don't dry indoor air out like other heating systems do. These systems also take less energy to heat water and can add value and marketability to your home or building. ENRGi's geothermal systems are used in the United States and their team is skilled in helping homeowners redeem the numerous incentives available with geothermal systems, such as a 30% tax credit offered by the Federal Government.
ENRGi does more than just install geothermal heating and cooling systems. They also participate in their community to engage and educate citizens. The folks at ENRGi really believe in geothermal heating and cooling as a means to bring our country to into a renewable energy future. In fact, ENRGi owner David Goldsholl is obsessed with it! In an article for the Star Ledger, Goldsholl openly admitted that he had a pretty deep interest in geothermal energy from the inception of his company saying, “When I started looking into it, I couldn't stop. I felt it was too good to be true. I was Googling up to 12 hours a day on weekends”. A relatively new company founded in June 2008, ENRGi is already making a lot of progress and has done a great job educating the local community about the benefits of geothermal heating and cooling systems. Goldsholl understands that limitations on the success of geothermal systems remain due to the upfront costs and belief that it is inferior to conventional heating/cooling systems.
Despite the challenges, Goldsholl is firmly committed to geothermal heating and cooling systems. He is confident that as renewable energy technology slides into the mainstream paradigm, he won't be the only one believing in geothermal technology. EnviroCitizen.org agrees! |
